The Hicacos Peninsula, better known as Varadero, is the largest and most popular beach resort in Cuba. Although its white sandy beach is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful in the world, Varadero has much more to offer.
Hotel – Melia Las Americas
Trip Advisor gives this all-inclusive resort 4.5 stars! Champagne when you check in, free-flowing drinks all day long, expansive breakfast options, and awesome restaurants for dinner – they don’t call it all-inclusive for nothing! Reviewers have nothing but good things to say about this hotel and most people who stay there can’t wait to come back.
Restaurant – Beatles Bar
Tourist and locals alike Come Together here for the infamous Beatles tribute bar and old school live music at 9pm every night. The big outdoor seating area and great mojitos are perfect for big groups. So come with an empty stomach, your dancing shoes and be ready for a good time.
ScubaLibre Varadero
This scuba adventure is nothing short of 5 stars – in fact, ScubaLibre was just awarded the Certificate of Excellence 2017 by Trip Advisor! From the list of various places to dive to the knowledgeable instructors this is sure to be an experience to remember. Just be sure to book your trip a few days in advance because spots fill up quickly!
Varadero Golf Course
If you’re at all into golf, the course is a hole-in-one. It is the only 18-hole course in all of Cuba making it that much more special. Reviewers say the course is filled with both easy and challenging holes and all have beach views that are nothing short of fantastic. If you don’t have your own clubs, the rentals are great and inexpensive. Make sure to pack water and sunscreen because this course is hot! And after you’re finished you can enjoy a fresh mojito and a Cuban cigar from the club’s restaurant.
Varadero Beach
Varadero’s white sand, blue sky and crystal-clear water makes this beach a must-visit. Whether you’re relaxing in a lounge chair, swimming in the sea, or walking the (almost) four miles this beach has to offer, there is something for everyone. If you’re not staying at one of the resorts, make sure to pack chairs, towels and an umbrella. Once you get settled in, get yourself a mojito and a sun hat from one of the many vendors nearby and enjoy – cheers!
